Carol Blackburn - Perfume Purse

Carol Blackburn - Perfume Purse

This masterclass took place on May 21 & 22 2017 en our polymer expert was Carol Blackburn.

Creata has organised another guestworkshop and has again invited a big lady from the polymer world. Carol has been our guest already two years ago for our very first Masterclass. She has become a good friend in the meantime, so we like to see her again.

Carol Blackburn

Carol tells about herself : "I was looking for nice beads for my knitting work, when I discovered polymer clay. I was impressed by the colours and patterns, so I wanted to know more about this material. It turns out to be a mixture of PVC with coloured particles that cures when being baked. I was immediately hooked and - although I still have a passion for textile related materials - working with polymer clay has become a fulltime job in my studio in London."

In this 2day workshop we will make a pendant that can hold a perfume atomiser, so you can wear your favourite smell. It can also be just a beautiful pendant.

We startmaking the shape, and while this is in the oven we will make several veneers and other parts for the purse. We will learn how the construction of the purse is done, and we learn to make different patterns for its decoration. It is a workshop that allows a lot of freedom for particitpants to be creative.

The required level is intermediate. Participants should have at least some experience with polymer clay & making blends.
